Subaru Weekend Wrap-up November 15th

Steele Subarus Win Big, Lose Big

The Subz went 1-1 on the weekend, smashing the Weeks 9-1, then losing 6-1 to the Macs.

On Saturday, we visited the Weeks for the 2nd time this year. After Luke Foster put us up 1-0, the game was delayed for almost 30 minutes, as Subaru forward Will Normandeau was hit awkwardly into the boards. Normandeau was taken to hospital by ambulance for evaluation and some repairs. On the resulting 5 minute Subaru Power-Play, Jake Beardsmore, and Ben Mercer both scored to make it 3-0. Weeks would add one at the end of the period, but could muster no more, as the Subz scored 6 more to win 9-1. Mercer would add another, while Elliot Kavanaugh also had 2. Ryan Langlois, Blake Pilgrim-Edwards, and Vinny Radford also scored. Joey Hawco made 22 saves. Final shots 39-22 Subarus.

Sunday, we hosted the Macs for the 2nd Sunday in a row. Short 3 forwards, and with only 5 D, the Subz managed to control most of the play, but could not convert, and fell 6-1. Jake Beardsmore scored the lone Subaru goal. Final Shots were 33-20 Subz. Noah Harvey made 9 saves, and Hawco made 5 in relief.

The Subarus (22gp, 30pts) currently sit in 2nd place, with the Valley Wildcats (24gp, 30pts) in 3rd, and the Macs (24gp, 39pts) in 1st.
