Subarus Pick up 4 Points:
The Subz went 2-0 on the weekend, after falling to the Macs on Wednesday.
Wednesday saw the Subarus visit the Macs at the forum. After a Blake Pilgrim-Edwards goal put the Subarus up 1-0 in the 2nd period, the Macs came back to score 2 in the 3rd and get the win. Joey Hawco made 31 saves, while Noah Harvey made 1 in a 3 minute relief appearance as Hawco had an equipment issue. Final shots were 35-33 Subarus.
On Saturday, the Subz hosted the Cape Breton West Islanders, for only their second match-up of the season. Subz scored 3 goals in the 2nd, and 1 in the 3rd to win 4-1. Scoring for the Subarus were Ryan Langlois (2), Zach Jenkins, and Pilgrim-Edwards. Harvey made 22 saves in the win, with the only Islander goal coming on a penalty shot. Final shots 37-23 Subarus.
Sunday the Valley Wildcats visited the Subz, also only the 2nd match-up of the season for these 2. Hawco played a solid 60 minutes, making 27 saves and shutting out the Wildcats, earning his 1st career U18 Major shut out. Subaru AP Brennan O’Donnell, called up from the Voyageurs, scored the first goal of the game, for his 1st career U18 Major goal, while Vinny Radford and Cody Garcin each had one, 3-0 final. Shots were 27-24 Wildcats.
The Subarus currently sit in 3rd place in League Standings (17gp, 24pts), 1 point ahead of the Wolfpack (17gp, 23pts), and 6 points behind the Valley Wildcats (21gp, 30pts).
