Subarus Split with Rush
The Subz went 1-1 this weekend, defeating the Sydney Mitsubishi Rush 4-2 on Sunday, after losing 6-3 on Saturday in Membertou.
Saturday saw the Rush start strong, opening a 5-0 lead. The Subz stopped the bleeding but were not able to mount a comeback, falling 6-3 Final. Scoring for the Subz were Blake Pilgrim-Edwards, Camden Pellerine, and Liam Andrews. Joey Hawco made 24 saves in the loss. Final shots were 39-30 Subz.
Looking to get back on track, Sunday the Subarus started stronger, with Luke Foster scoring first. The Rush did tie, then take the lead, but Pilgrim-Edwards scored his 2nd of the weekend to even it at 2 just before the 2nd period ended. Still tied at 2 with just over a minute left in the game, Tristan LeBlanc played hero for the Subz, scoring on a rebound to take the lead. Andrew Lordon would add an empty netter from his own end to seal it, 4-2 final. Noah Harvey made 26 saves for the win. Final shots 28-28.
The Subarus currently sit tied for 3rd place (20pts, 14gp) with Cole Harbour in the standings, with 1 game at hand over the Wolfpack (20pts, 15gp), and 7pts behind the 2nd place Macs, although we have 2 games at hand (27pts, 16gp).
