Subaru Weekend Wrap-up September 20th

The Subarus lost both games this weekend, however they did take 2 points over all, as both games went extra time.

Saturday saw the Subarus head to the Kings Mutual Centre in Berwick for our first battle against the league-leading Valley Wildcats. The game was also the first league game to be broadcast on Eastlink since the 2019-2020 season. Tied 2-2 after regulation and overtime, it headed to a shoot-out. Valley shooters were able to score on both of their shots, while both Subaru players were stopped for a final score of 3-2 Valley. Luke Foster and Ben Mercer scored for the Subz, while Harvey stopped 23 of 25 shots.

Sunday, the Subarus were on the road again, this time to the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre for a visit with the South Shore Mustangs. Despite the Subz having a significant shot advantage (43-24), and mounting a comeback from a 2 goal deficit, it was tied 4-4 after regulation. The Mustangs scored in overtime to pick up their first win of the season, final score 5-4. Subaru goals scored by Cody Garcin(2), Will Normandeau, and Elliot Kavanaugh. Joe Hawco made 20 save in the loss.
