Morgan Barron makes NHL Debut, Scores in 3rd NHL Game

Dartmouth U18 Major Alumni Morgan Barron made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers Saturday May 1st. He scored his first goal in the 3rd game, May 5th, against the Washington Capitals.

Barron, 22, played 2 seasons with our club, 2013-2014, and 2014-2015, then known as the Newbridge Gladiators. As a rookie, he put up 19 points, then added 10 more in the play-offs. In his second year, as an Assistant Captain, he dominated statistically, scoring 42 points in the regular season, with 24 more in 16 play-off games. That season also included a trip to the National Championship Telus Cup, where Barron tied for the team lead in points.

After spending the next 2 season in Ontario playing Prep, Barron committed to Cornell University, and was drafted in the 6th Round, 174th overall by the Rangers in 2017. In his final season with Cornell, Barron was Co-Captain, and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award.

He joins Sidney Crosby, Brad Marchand, and Matt Highmore as our Alumni currently active in the NHL.

Our Organization would like to sincerely congratulate him on his accomplishment!
